Don't even know how I came across this, I've been looking at mcoupebuyersguide.com for a while now and just happened across this. Going to get a PPI on it on Friday and possibly buy it next week. It's a '99, so M52TUB28.
Thoughts on the car in general or anything to look for? I've already checked it out in person and noticed a few minor things, nothing major. The wheels have been redone, but not a full refinish. 106k miles.
Looks good especially for the miles, Im digging that color combo

Wow, that's very pretty.
You should pounce!
If its at a stealership, I would make sure that the belts, hoses, and all the rubber bits have been replaced. Also, water pump should have been changed, and if its not documented and verified then I would replace it as a preventative measure. Its a really easy project.
Check the subframe for popped spot welds, and make sure it hasn't been wrecked anywhere. No airbag lights or check engine lights.
Anything other than an engine that blows up or that has been overheated can be fixed with a search for the DIY here in bimmerforums.
Or just ask us, and we will sarcastically reply that you should learn to use search and will help you anyway.
Its super easy to work on, so I say dive in.

shouldn't there be a 2.8 or 3.0i emblem on the hatch?
Very pretty.
Looks great! Love the color combo!
Only the 3.0's have the 3.0i badge.
Beautiful! Best color combo for a Z3 Coupe, IMHO. I'll be interested to hear what they sell it for. Hope you get a bargain!
Out of curiosity how much more is a coupe generally worth than an identical roadster?
beautiful combo. hope it's not more than $10K.
Beautiful car. Good luck with your purchase!

Good to know! I guess my question was specific for the non-M models.
I'm in agreement, that is one awesome color combo
Great combo- saw this myself on autotrader. It's priced fairly assuming it's got all original panels and is in good shape. Remember, as a stealership they'll also throw various stealership fees on there (tax, title, doc fees etc.) which you could avoid buying privately. I'd be curious with what you can get away.
Saw that on Autotrader too. North Carolina, right? That is a nice color combo. Buy it!
I love that interior!
BTW, those wheels didn't come on it, they came on later models so must've been retrofit.

It is listed for $11,995 http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...e&rdpage=thumb
Looks very nice. I like the Oregon interior in person but sometimes it looks wonky in photos.

How do you get away from paying tax and title fees if you buy privately? In my state, and I suspect others, when you buy privately, you pay sales tax on the purchase amount when you license the car, plus the title/license fees. It would be correct that you wouldn't pay a "doc fee" by buying privately, and private sales typically are for a bit less money than a dealer charges (e.g., between wholesale and retail for a private sale).
