1998 M3 S52 engine/ZF trans/and all accessories

Engine:

This motor is in great shape. It was removed from my own lovingly maintained 1998 M3 with 99K. No, the car was not wrecked. Why am I selling? Because I bought a complete S52/Twinscrew/ZF/accessories drop out. Rather than swap stuff around, I just pulled my old motor and threw the new one in.

The engine is still running the stock head gasket with absolutely no leaks. The engine has never been overheated, and it has never been tracked. Upon removal I did discover a valve cover leak. It was not enough to ever drip on the floor (so I didn't noticed it) but it was enough to build up grease on the front of the engine which I have tried to clean (I just want full disclosure). I would recommend a valve cover gasket and some new belts before installing the engine.

I've never had a single problem with the engine. All accessories are included and they all work. The starter has been replaced within 5000 miles, it has an aluminum thermostat housing, and a smaller blade 318 crank fan. The intake manifold was upgraded to an OBD1 for increased power (complete OBD1 conversion was not done). The stock exhaust manifolds are included as well. If interested, I can include a brand new never mounted set of ebay stainless long tube headers (also good for OBD 1 conversion). I ran a set for 15K and loved them.

Compression #'s 179, 179, 179, 180, 187, 187 (pictures are attached below). Please note, the compression test was done on a warm engine according to exact BMW service manual procedure.

Transmission:

The Transmission shifted great with no slippage or grinding. Very Strong.

The trans has an upgraded UUC Lightweight Aluminum flywheel and M5 pressure plate. It revs nice and fast. The clutch utilizes a Kevlar disc so it sings when releasing and its grabby as all hell. I loved it.

Accessories:

This is not a whole car part out so the wiring harness and DME are not included. A red label 413 DME is an easy solution if you wanted to go OBD1.

All other accessories: (AC compressor, Power Steering Pump, Starter, Alternator) are included, worked great, and have no problems at all.

Shipping:

I’m happy to crate, strap, and plastic wrap the motor for you. I will even take it to the freight terminal for you which will save you a ton of money on shipping. Shipping should be $200-400 depending on carrier. If your anywhere in the Central NY area I'd even be willing to bring it to you.

Disclosure:

This engine was run with a Dinan Stage 1 supercharger (WHICH IS NOT INCLUDED) for approximately 20K. Never more than 7 psi. In fact, I'm embarrassed to admit but when removing the supercharger I discovered several leaks and loose hoses so I would be surprised if it ever saw more than 4-5 psi.

That being said, you can look at the compression numbers listed above and see that the engine is in great shape.

If needs be I know several people on bimmerforums that can attest to the condition of the motor as well as my character. Just ask me for references if you need to.

So the motor includes all accessories (alternator, ac pump, power steering pump), transmission, pink 21.5lb injectors, M50 manifold conversion, transmission mount, transmission bushings, motor mounts (no bushings), shifter (will need new bushings and rod), ICv, crank case vent valve, 318ti fan, UUC lightweight flywheel, M5 clutch, stock obd2 exhaust manifolds, and anything else pictured.
