I think what Jame's is saying is that you don't want a used set of wires.
50/50 chance that one or two are already bad, or will go bad soon, especially if they are resistor wires.
What you want, fullswing - is a decent set of non-resistor wires.

The reason I need the 77-79 plug wires is this: I already have the entire ignition upgrade kit installed in Shifty - Bosch Red Coil, 8.8mm wires, early distributor cap and rotor, and Autolite AR52 plugs. Problem is, Shifty now runs like crap whereas he ran great before I replaced the ignition components.
SO the purpose of the wires was just to test my cutting and crimping of the plug wires for the ignition distributor connectors, as they were not cut to length.
I did not want to bother people with why I wanted it so I stuck with just saying what I needed.
That is all. Just a simple WTB thread.
just visually check the ark of the plug against the valve cover to rule out your plug wires.
Duh me. Sometimes (?) I tend to over complicate things. Thanks for the suggestion Vance!
Glad to be of service!
