lost to a stage 2 Mk5 Gti (vids)

me and my freind got together to do a few pulls we did 2 rolls and 2 runs from a dig.

the only videos i have are from the roll and they were recorded on the side of the road

first roll (15 mph-110)
gti pulls 1.5 cars on me

second roll (30-110)

I jumped a little and the gti pulled around 70 but I ran the gti down in 3rd and stayed even till I hit the brakes before the merge

First Dig to 105

I had a better launch than the gti, I stayed 1.5 cars ahead till we shut down

Second dig to 120

Gti had a better launch still bogged a bit tho I held him off to 70 and then he crawled past me and stayed 1.5 cars till we shut down

-full turbo back exhaust
-revo stage 2 (spikes 20 holds 19)
-short shifter

me 96 318is with an m54b30 with exhaust no cats


It was a good run all in all I know his car is faster than mine vw made a huge improvement in the 2.0 vs the 1.8

Sorry but that Gli was not a Mk5. Sounds like you were in the mk4 (chances are it was the 1.8t vs my 2.0).

I am glad I added F/I to my S52, because my APR tuned 2.0T 6mt DD was faster than when I was bolt on NA.

Its true those engines have a lot of potential my buddy I raced just picked up a meth kit for his mk5 I don't stand a chance now

How much does your car weigh OP? And is your vanos still disconnected?
