holy sh*t thats sweet looking. Im 17 too and wow not even close lol
Of course, alpine white is the sex color with our cars and modding.

I remember someone trying to plastidip their roof and it came out horribly wrong lol but its perfect on yours. How exactly did you do it? One sweet across at a time? Also, when did you do it because I bought the new plastidip and it seems to have more of a grit texture than smooth.

Car looks amazing. great job

no the roof is plasti-dip and it was $5/can and it only took 1.5
I took out the radio and bought an aux cable and plugged it in and then ran it into my glove box
you have to have a business CD player, the same thats in the e53 x5, so i dont think you could do it

I will have to think about the grilles, but the m5 front is sitting at my house (look at page 2) and the rear is on its way and coilovers were installed last monday!!

I love the alpine white, its just a sweet color
I did it about 2 weeks ago when it was about 30˚ outside and did 2 light coats at a time, waited 15min and then did 2 more...etc, for a total of 12 coats then put it in the garage to cure
Its very smooth on mine and my friends comment that is feels like leather

the Plasti-Dip is holding up VERY well
it has been rained on 3 times and in freezing weather, washed twice, and bird droppings removed and its like i just put it on, this stuff is amazing!!
I am finishing dialing in the coilovers and the bumpers will be painted and installed by the end of next week, cant wait!!!
then exhaust will be very soon after
and the carbon fiber trim was installed today and it looks fantastic!!
pics up tomorrow (int and i need some help with ride height)

Its different in a good way. Which is cool. Although I'm probably going with the typical M-pars in 19" its nice to see a break from the norm once in a while. Especially when you can have good taste and tie it all together nicely. I really like the roof too. Its aggressive but not "boy racer" if you know what I mean. Once you get your drop dinner will be served.

Abe

Edit:

Just read through this whole thread and found out you were 17!!! You should be really proud of yourself. Your parents should be too. To have that much pride of ownership, appreciation, and attention to detail, not to mention the skill and taste it takes to pull off mods such as these. Cheers to you dude. I know my opinion is not much but as a grown man with a wife and children I mean every word I'm saying. I know at your age I was a little prick. Hell, at 20 I was even more of a prick. One question though, not that it matters but how are you getting the money for all this stuff? Hopefully a very strong work ethic.

Thanks man!! I am very proud to call this my car, and i pride myself (not trying to be arrogant) in being able to do the modifications myself, and i have learned a ton from doing it. I wired all the speakers/amp, did all the lighting, installed the coilovers, everything (well except rims)

Ok so here are some updates, sorry the lighting was bad, but i had to take pictures when i could:

Up or down?

and the interior:

(and the floorboard, yea i know its messy, and i think thats just a weird coincidence that all the CDs are upside down)

Car looked better when you bought it. The plastidip and interior fiberglass stuff makes it look cheap. The wheels look out of place but I must say the effort is all aces. Much better effort then some of the other folk who have been coming on here. Keep it up. Just dont cheapen it too much.

EDIT: Actually looking at the pics, the car looks different in all the pics. It doesnt look bad. The elegance is a bit gone though. Im sure it can be brought back with the new bumper. Keep it up. The FK's was a good choice. Too low in the rear. Im more of a raked look person.

You did a lot to the car and most of it paid off. I'd stay away from plastidipping the roof or wrapping the trim in fake CF ( maybe on a cheaper brand car but not the bimmer).
But still impressive amount of work done.
p.s. is that a coffee spill in your left vent?

Re: Alpine White '03 525i PICS!!!

Ok so I'm thinking about the tails but they do look better in person...just wish they were a little lighter

I mean I like the roof and trim...but I'm on a tight budget (remember I'm 17) and the roof looks amazing in person...the guy who owns the body shop where I got my bumpers done thought it was a professional job..which made me feel really good

And I don't drink coffee...but yes I think that is from my dad and I just can't find my detailing brush to get it out
