Thumbs up Kill (Suicide) Story

We went to a beach 45 miles from LA (to burn wood and eat marshmallows.. ) Anyway. We were with 2 cars, my 540 and my friend's FX35. On the way there we made a few pulls, (just playing around). I won by quite a huge margin every time (I know, nothing to be proud of).

Anyways, on the way back my friend was driving. He likes driving my car every chance he gets (he loves old bimmers). We were going the speed limit (35-40) and we caught up to a blue Z06 that was just cruising (I guess). My friend decided to see how bad we're gonna loose against something with 10x the power and 1/10 weight... We lined up next to him, and basically taunted him into killing us. We were in 4th gear (my friend decided there is no need to downshift....).. The Z06 driver downshifted. He took off. From my perspective it looked like we were going backwards.

I know I'm stating the obvious, but stay away from Z06s. They will make your car look stopped.

Not that it matters, lol.

It's an awesome sound isn't it! Nothing like a big cubed naturally aspirated engine making over 500 hp with tons of torque. It's one of the reasons why I'm so addicted to running the road courses - coming through a tunnel or overpass and hearing the engine echo off the walls... just awesome.

But that's what happens when the value of an expensive sports car drops below $10k, you get kids buying it who can't afford to take care of it.

Right as I was finishing school last year there was a guy with a red C6 Lingenfelter Z06 cruisin around... I was lucky enough to hear him idle away from a stop sign, and that alone was enough to scare the hell out of me.

There's a guy here in town with a 1 of 427 special edition red and white Z06s.

He put a maggie on it and races on the street with his wife.

Big Pimpin'.

I killed one at the track. The first three runs at least. By the 4th run the guy had figured out where second gear was and came by me. He was only going like 15 mph faster at the 1/8th .

Could have hoped for a slower driver like I had
