Any one have experience with the Volvo S60R

I used to work at a Volvo dealer in ther parts dep, and I can say that the S60R is not the most reliable car out there... I would never buy a Volvo newer than 2000 (and no one that worked at the dealer had one) cause they are built like shit!!! A 850 or S70 is a very reliable car and I owned one before i bought my E36, but they are getting old and most have very high milage...

With that said, they are alot of fun to drive, but I would choose a 540 over it any day of the week...

Cool, good to know. My Volvos, 850 Turbo Wagon, and 240 DL were both rock solid cars. I have heard with the take over of Ford, they went down hill and are not the same anymore. Sounds like it may be true after all.

I bought my wife a V70R three years ago, and we still have it today. In three years it's been pretty darn reliable, only one small fix covered under extended warranty, the rest just tires and oil.
Everything you've heard about the turning radius is true, they park in tight spots like a school bus. Otherwise, they are lots of fun to drive for the grocery getter, are hellaciously fast for their size and can be modded for 60-70 extra HP for about $1,000 bucks.
My other friend bought an s60r and he's driven over 80,000 miles in it with very few problems as well. It's a ton more reliable than a 540i, but handles about 80% as well on its best day. You really should try both and see which best suits your needs. I'd pick the S60R over the 540, but I'd pick an E46M3 over both every time.
