Mityvac is a great company...
Ok, bought a fluid extractor last year to change the oil in my cars. Worked like a charm but I hadn't used it in a little while but it was time to change the oil in the BMW today. So brought it all out, etc. Went to use it and was having a problem with it. Turns out, like an idiot, I had left the last oil from the last change I did a few months ago in the extractor and the valve can open inside and let oil into the pump mechanism which then squirts oil out of just below the handle! I thought it was broken so I called Mityvac customer service.
Got a very nice gentleman who explained it all to me. I also mentioned something about maybe having a crack in the top. He immediately offered to send me a kit to replace the top (like 4ish screws to change it). Then explained there are indentations which look like cracks but he'll send out the kit anyway just in case. btw, I checked, mine isn't actually cracked after looking at it harder. Now, in this age of customer service sucking from so many companies, it was a breath of fresh air to actually speak with someone who cared. If you're considering any of the types of products Mityvac sells, I'd go with them for sure. They do make quality products (the problem was my fault) and the thing does work like a charm. Ok, just wanted to share a positive experience with someone for a change. |
