Lightbulb Track day tyres. What to choose ?

Considering what semi slick tyres to choose for track days:
Kumho Ecsta V70A or Michelin Pilot Sport Cup?

I used to have Kumhos and I liked them.

Do you people know something about M Sport Cup?

Those are expensive tires. Not sure why you'd want to throw down so much coin for michelins. Get something like the Nitto NT-01.

Agreed. Not sure if the NT01s are available in Lithuania, but those or something similar would be perfect for just track days. I have yet to here any BMW drivers I know who've been happy with the Michelin PSCs, and they're horrendously expensive, as well as hard to get their temps/pressures exactly right.

just found out that 245/40 R17 size is discontinued by manufacturer

and I also read that Kumho's V70A are discontinued also

Damn, these were very good tires.

So, what to buy?

If it's for the E36 in your stats, you could run the Toyo R888 in 235/40-17 or 255/40-17 if you can't find the Nittos locally.

Not a fan of PS Cups...very temp sensitive, need to really slide them around to warm them up (which usually happens before the car and driver are warmed up), you can't flip/rotate them except same side, the shoulders wear fast. Not a fan...

I like the pilot sport cups. I ran them for the first time at my last event of last year and they were very good. I bought them used from a local guy that changed to a different wheel size so he was able to help me get the pressures spot on right from the beginning.

Seriously, the tires are quick and have good grip and long life. I'm looking forward to using them again this season.
