8 Series (E31) (1991 - 1997) As the last E24 rolled off the production line in 1989, its replacement was quick on its heels to fulfill the fantasies of those looking for a touring coupe with all of the luxury, performance, and prestige of a BMW, only now with both 8 and 12 cylinder engines.

Cool V12 emblem question

Is there a correct V12 emblem to use on the 850? I have notice several versions..does anyone know if 850 ever came with V12 emblem originally?

Thanks

No, no, no! The E31 never came from the factory w/ any V12 "bling"! The "850" badging on the rear s/b plenty. I'd say leave well enough alone - this is not a M-B.

i think that a couple of tiny emblems displaying what you DO have underneath is perfectly ok (obviously or else i wouldn't have put them on MY car). it's when people start puttin bs emblems like "///M", "/////AMG", "DINAN", etc. on a non tuned car that i get super turned off.

my emblems are incorrect. i miffed and now i'm living with them. i might change them later thanks to some fellow members tips. see the following thread and you'll see how to get the correct ones

I use 760i fender V12 badges for my fenders on my E38. Matches OEM (duh it is OEM).

I like the badges. And the only people that WILL EVER notice them MB badges are the people on the Internet in the 7 or 8 sections, and not even all of them will notice. What counts is how they look out on the road, not on the net, I say you did good.
I've been contemplating badges and may pull the trigger. I will go ahead and get the 760 badges since it was pointed out tho
Also I am in the works of trying to get spacers and springs for mine also. My rear rim offset is 20 and I haven't pulled the front rim yet so I don't know what size spacers to run with yet. But hopefully soon I will be pimpin it like you.

I love this with the Hybrid badge. I may go this route also, its just too funny!

Yesterday me and my wife pulled over to look at a Smart car For Sale and when we left she asked if I thought that anyone looked at us and thought that it was funny that we were looking at a 3 cly Smart car while rolling in a V12 8 series LOL

i agree.... if i were to do it over i'd get the bmw badges but i actually kinda like the mb ones. and no-one 'cept you folks will realize that. i ended up going with 15mm spacers on my rear rims... offset of 20. i must say that i do rub on occasion during "spirited driving" so you might want to go with 10mms. but i love the way they look! i have 25mm and will try 30mm in the front. offset of 20 as well. the springs, spacers, and badges made a huge esthetic upgrade in my opinion. peace!

Cool

I guess you can call me arrogant...I like the fact that when a car pulls in behind me..they know this isnt their grandpa's Taurus! Not a whole lotta cars rolling around with 12's under the hood!

Like Steff likes to say...

Every man should drive a V12 and is OK to flash a badge if you wanted to.... (the OK part is my statement)
I darn sure flash mine and this what my license plate looks like :-) Now bite me if you feel like.... :-)
