H&K Blown Sub

I have the H&K system, and I have a blown sub (I did not do this, I just bought the car) It is a 2001 330ci
I was wondering if I was planning on buying a new sub and amp do I need to do anything with it? Take it out? Or let the people installing do this?

Are you installing a subwoofer system as a replacement or upgrading the 6x9 'sub' pair that is there?

Defintiely something you could do yourself either way.
