I hear ya, but it gets annoying when others assume to know something and state it as if it were fact when it truly isn't. Btw I heard your car is pretty sick in person.

I like it for what it is: 2 seats, good looking, great performance for the $, can't drive it in lousy weather, so-so interior (it's not tacky!). I'd take a Ford GT over it is a second. Ditto an F430.

I doubt this is a repost considering the video was just added yesterday. I LOL'ed when i saw that the OP didn't post the third video of the same cars racing from a roll and they all start at the same time and the results are a lot more even. Enjoy

There are more 211 e55 dynoing in the high 300s than in the 400s. Some dyno in the 400s and I don't doubt a 420 but that's on the high end. I have seen as high as 415. However, compared to the V10, it's down on power.

Secondly, if production GT-Rs are doing mid 3sec 60s then it will pull an M6 hard from a dig. As people have said, it should not pull a properly driven M6 that hard.

One of the M5 drivers is from a Russian BMW forums and he said that GT-R had such a dramatic advantage only couple times. And the video above proves that.
And yes,the M5 with a cameraman is moded.

As I said, anyone can find the worst presentation and post it just to make a point which he did.

The worst presentation were the first two races, and as russoturristo stated the GTR had a dramatic advantage the other races.

you mean the run where the M5 took off early. because the start speeds are from 1st gear in the M5's powerband in all the races, but magically this time the M pulls way ahead off the jump and then the GTR passes anyways. yeah i didnt post it because the M5 hit Vtec

Are there cars faster? Yes, there are. Any from a Dig? Not many...any from a dig when it is wet out? I love the GT-R. Everything I could ask for. But wait, this is the BMW board...I sometimes forget that. In that case, yes, the M5 is faster than the 211 and the GT-R. Case closed. Have a good day.
A little biased aren't we? I think people race a lot more over 120+mph than they do in the rain. In fact...who the hell races in the wet? Oh, nvm, you must have the rally-spec GT-R...

very few E55's dyno in the 390's or less. The ones that do usually have a bad IC pump or something. 410+whp is normal for a V8 Kompressor motors.

Also, if you don't use LC, GTR's 5mph to 60 time is more like 4 seconds flat.

Lollercakes.

I love how you picked and chose that specific run, where the GTR didn't even launch. Notice how he's still sitting at the line, when the CL65 was already moving?

How about you watch this even "more realistic" one where the GTR actually launches (same exact cars):

This is my third time of saying this in this thread; people find videos they think back up their claim. If a race doesn't go their way, they find excuses as to why. The OP picked the worst.

Funny thing is, the first video where the GT-R didn't launch he still caught up to the M5 and pulled it, annnnddd the GT-R still pulled the M from a roll and seemed to be pretty even with the CL65. It would be interesting to see what would happen at very high speeds. Maybe the better gearing of the GT-R would put it ahead of the CL65, but the CL does have a $hit ton of tq, so who knows. Either way, it's nice to see that a stock GT-R is even if not pulling a 120-122 stock trap CL65 from a roll.

Launching just wasn't fair.

Btw, Montague, most W211's dyno about 410whp stock with "rare" examples dynoing as high as 440 or 450whp. As mentioned earlier, those that dyno 390ish have issue with the most common problem being an IC pump. I know that you know everything about every car, so maybe you can add this to your archives of knowledge.

i am wondering something here....whats a 211 e55? and why do people say its faster than the m5?

i'm prolly missing something but in a mt test the e63 amg was equal to the m5 till like 50 mph then the m5 was faster after that (e55 > e63?)

Do you really think that a M5 or Cl65 can outlaunch a GTR on street tires? You do realize that the GTR is AWD and has launch control right?

I believe the GT-R is the best out there from a dig....JMHO of course! 11'a in the 1/4 and an all weather driver.

Was not planning on modding it, but may have to rethink that as 335's are now beating them.

an AWD car w plenty of tq and launch control is hard to beat, no doubt about that. I just wish the GTR wasnt such a pig, they could have found a way to pull a few hundred pounds off it.

oh yeah, and your an idiot for bringing up racing in the rain. I hope you have enough brains to avoid that or you will end up wrapped around a tree. Whats next? saying my Z71 will crush your GTR in the mud.

Yeah racing in the rain is not good...but he has the car to do it. Also Formula 1 races in the rain...that is the craziest $hit I have ever seen!!!
