7 Series (E23, E32, E38, E65, E66) The flagship BMW 7 Series has sparked the imagination with idea that luxury does not have to come at the sacrifice of performance since its birth in 1977. Well appointed with thick leather, wood trim, and more gadgets than Bond could shake a stick at, the 7 Series is the epitome of a luxury cruiser, and a fast, well handling one at that.

Thumbs up DFW7 Presents: A day at the Texas Motor Speedway, VIDEOS & PICS !!!

Well, what can I say... it was the most fun I personally had organizing DFW7 meets since March, 2002. 7 of us met up at Starbucks; we chatted for about 15 minutes outdoor under perfect weather, then our group drive to Texas Motor Speedway. We were at the staging area early, so had time to watch some of the car clubs, Viper, Prowler, Mustang, Solitice/Sky, TransAm, Diesel Ford trucks, etc., go before us. It was a blast watching the race tuned Corvettes duke it out with each other in the driving experience laps on the opposite smaller tracks, very loud, very fast, very exciting. Afterward, some of us went to Bone Daddys in Grapevine, nice. It was A TON OF FUN to be driving on the big Oval, hard to tell in the Video of our speed, we averaged between 80mph ~ 100mph. Special thanks to JohnG's lovely wife Natalie for taking the videos (see bottom of page for links). It was a great experience and what's even better is that while we enjoyed ourselves tremendously, our $30 entrance fee all went to the Childrens Charity, everyone wins here :-)

BJames38, Buck, wish you guys could have made it. I found out that you can do extra laps, just pay extra. Lurcher, thanks for setting this up, Steve, nice mods, and we welcome our new member Jeremy. TxDarth, bring you wife next time, I am bringing my wife, she will enjoy it for sure. Terry, as always, thanks for been there with us, looks like your son had a blast sticking his hands out of sunroof taking pics

The tentative date for next Laps for Charity at TMS is May 24, 2008, Saturday, DFW7 will be participating for sure! Edit: DFW7 has now reserved a Car Club spot of 5:30 PM on that date, please put it down on your planner if you are interested in attending.

Relaxing outside of Starbucks.

Looks like a good time. The video just doesn't do it justice. Makes me miss the 7.

VERY COOL!
I love the pic where all E38s are lined up and ready to roll
Was there a speed limit on the race track?

Uh, from where I am sitting, some these "Old Guys" bought their E38 car brand new with cash, some are on their 2nd E38 and some have 7 and 8 cars that they mod in their 4 car garages and storage with built in lift. Enjoy their retirement with their family, yet still have the burning desire and now lots of time to mod their cars. I say that that it ain't so bad to be old, something we are all going to get to, just a matter of time.

Respectfully,

JL

Very cool!! I'm not a big fan of oval track racing, but those pics had me wishing I was lined up with you guys! Beautiful cars, and looks like a good time!

Thanks JLe38 for arranging this and welcoming me. I had a great time and it was a genuine thrill to see all those 7s together.

Hope to do it again soon

Some more pics from Saturday,

Steve's 740iS, did all the mods himself recently, sharkfin antenna, exhaust tip, rear trunk spoiler, DDE, painted red caliper, etc.

Jeremy & JohnG's blue highline 740iL, that makes 2 out of 3 such beauty in DFW7's "inventory"

Yes they do regulate speed, suppose to be 75mph but the pace car & 'enforcers' do cut you some slack. I think Lurcher & TxDarth had the most fun as they did not have the two red Chevy enforcers next to them like the rest of us. The guys in front got up to 100mph briefly. Rest of us ran between 75 ~ 90. One of Darth's friend did 120 mph in another function, he was escorted off...

that's awesome. i really wish we had the oppurtunity to do something like that around here. the best we have in the northeast is Limerock Park, and that's only good if you have an M3 or something smaller than a 7 since it's a road course.

another trash comment by series and i say
