bosanci28, you can edit the double/triple posting yourself by editing each post you want to remove and then chose delete from the drop down menu. Happened to me more than once.

It will work under win 7 32bit as well and I installed under win 7 32bit. No problem at all. Hope this help.

if you buy from china sometime they charge way to much for shipping,
if is for one i suggest you buy from ebay if cheaper or there are website that sells those around 50$, with out the software ,i think.

Alright so I followed all the instructions, got the crack folder with the 10 files and everything.

When I plug the module into the car, either under the hood or using the OBD2 port, 4 out of 5 green lights come on, only the service interval light stays off.
But when I try to run a total diagnostic I either get the cannot connect to module error, or a "ERROR - Read error file" or something like that (sorry it's late and I don't remember exactly what it said).

But if I just run the DME diagnosis I will get some output like software version and stuff like that, all others seem to not be able to communicate with the module.

I'm running a clean install of win2kpro on an old laptop with a serial port.

Run a single diagnosis on the file that shows the error - this will display the error and allow it to be erased once the fault has been rectified.

Alright so the "Module does not respond" is normal and just means it either doesn't exist on the car or there are no errors??

Here are my results, feel free to advise on how to fix the errors:

DME:
211 - no msg
227 - no msg
68 - Crank-shaft sensor
EGS:
83 - EDS/MV voltage supply

-2000 M5

106 - Injection valve 3

-2001 530

39 - Signal Break Light Switch (I already know I need a new one)
168 - Pedal position sensor potentiometer supply channel 1
227 - Mixture Deviation: bank 1 Cylinder 1-3
228 - Mixture Deviation: bank 2 Cylinder 4-6
EGS:
149 - CAN - ABS/DSC wheel speeds (Pretty sure I just need a new wheel speed sensor)
50 - Speed monitoring 1
146 - CAN Torque Interface

EDIT: After watching the videos above I see that it should says "Status: OK" for the modules I have with no errors. I find it hard to believe the M5 has no other module besides DDE, and the x5 and 530 only have DDE/EGS. But then again what do I know?

EDIT 2: Just found out I need to use the round connector on the X5. But so do I really not have any other modules on the X5 and 530?

EDIT 3: Got more output from the M5
Instrument cluster:
BF - Instrument Cluster Internal Error
CE - Outside temperature sensor
F5 - CAN Identification missing (ASC)
90 - Power supply Term. 15

ABS/ASC:
116 - no msg

LCM/CCM:
23 - wiring dim potentiometer

I have no idea what any of that means

So I did the same thing mffarrel did and bridged pin 7 & 8, it did the trick. I was only able to read DME and EGS before, now I can read all of them (except the ones I don't have of course). After doing lots of module reading and error erasing and live data showing, I tried starting the car and it wouldn't. For a good couple minutes I thought I had messed something up, but it just needed a jump. I really didn't think I was out there that long with the car on and not running, but after I got it running I tried reading the modules and stuff with the engine running and everything worked just fine.

So I suggest having your car running just so you don't end up draining your battery down.

Now who wants to tell me what program/how to set remote windows up?

I also noticed in your video that the file you have is actually "Carsoft 6.5.06 for Windows 7.rar" Can you tell me where to get this file? PM me if necessary, thanks.

Update: for anyone with the same problem, use the link in step 3 in post #1727 to get Carsoft 6.5.06 for Windows 7. The directions for step 3 in Ricardo567's original post are old.

Hello everyone, I'm french and I really need your help..
So, i've made the installation of files exactly like described in the first page..
I've an e46 318i from 2000 with only obd2, no obd1 under the hood (sucks).
I've a carsoft interface and a computer with xp and a real port rs232.
Carsoft seems to work, but only DME respond ! The live data works fine but that's all !! No other module seems to respond !
I try on the e36 from 1997 of my brother and all module seems to respond fine !!
So what should I do ??

So I read the mffarel trick, and when I openned my obd2 plug I see that the pins number 7 and 8 are already bridged, there is just one cable for 2 pins.
I didn't know how to open the plug connected to the interface, could it help if I try bridge or something in this plug ?

Everything works fine now, I made a mistake in the pin number, i finally bridged the pin 7 and 8 and it works fine now !! Thanks bimmerforums and mffarel !!

I previously got carsoft running successfully in win2k.

But now I'm trying to get it running on vista...problem is I can't get the setup to run. I tried compatibility mode, running as administrator, etc. My cursor just changes to the loading symbol for a couple seconds and then nothing.

What am I doing wrong?

Edit: Got it to install, I think it had something to do with UAC (User Account Control) being turned on. But I will be attempting to get it to work with a usb->rs232 adapter, so wish me luck.

Edit 2: No such luck. Tried all the different prolific drivers, some worked some didn't, but in the end carsoft couldn't communicate with the diag cable (which I know works). Granted I got a cheap usb to serial from monoprice so I didn't have my hopes too high.
I got a PCMCIA to serial adapter, but my laptop takes pcmcia express, and those are like $30

I think I'll just get an extra long serial cable and just use an old desktop I have laying around.

The module does not respond is somewhat of a normal response. Basically it just means you don't have that module on your car. Or it could mean you need to bridge wire 7 and 8 (iirc)

I've got Carsoft installed and running, but I get results in German. I tried again and thought that I loaded through the Eng folder, but still German. It was hard enough getting the com port shuffle and get the program communicating, so I hate to mess with it at this point.

Is there anywhere that translates the error codes for the various modules (I know that I can type each into Babel or similar, but sometimes the translation isn't so good)? For example, the airbag module shows codes 45, 27, 52. These don't match up with the codes for a Peake tool, for example.
