What you guys think? looking for a cheap setup for my girls car. she has H&R Sport Springs in now with her original OEM Shocks and they are blown as hell...
KYB GR-2 with the lowering springs ok??
Any help or opinions would be great!
Check my sig.....thats what I have. It'll be fine if she's not running too low of a profile of tire. If I had the extra money, I'd have ponied up for bilsteins. Anyway, just my $.02. Hope this helps. Regards. PG

ok. how is your ride? shocks feel rough, bouncy, or just perfect with the lowering springs? she is just running stock wheels and tires right now.
They will not last as long. If you are only doing a little lowering, then it will probably be ok for a while. But if you are using H&R sport springs or similar, the shocks won't last long.
I've used the Gr-2 on a bunch of different cars that I've had...with different spring setups never had a problem. Car road as if stock just had a nicer stance. I don't know if patmcd has used himself and had problems in the past or just word of mouth. But I've used them and no problems here.
kennasbimmer....i'm running 18x8 M3 replicas 225/40 n 235/40 with no real issues.....ride slightly rough due to probs with crappy roads here n there(potholes/patches/etc) and little rubbing in the back. On most of our roads though, they handle great....i'm taking the car to get the rear fenders rolled so rear rubbing issue will go away. Also thinking of selling the M3 reps for Beyern mesh. Anyway, hope this helps. Peace. PG

How much does what cost? Shocks? H & R's? Both? Shipped to me in HI about $715.00. I don't have receipt w/ me so I'm guessing and I can't remember if I had other stuff on the invoice. Regards. PG

Tirerack has GR-2 full setup for $350 shipped. Cant beat that...
I am running H&R race springs with KYB GR2's. I have been for about 8 months now with no problems on my DD. Car handles great and I have no complaints. I am just as fast as the most of the m3's at the autocross if that helps you?
hmmmm... tire rack recommends i do not put lowering springs with these shocks! any more opinions? i just dont want these to blow out after a year or so...
I'm also interested in this; I've been wanting to lower my car for a while, and the $450 for Vogtland springs and GR-2s is quite a bit more appealing than the $800 for H&R and Bilstein Sports...
