Hey guys, Just wondering if any of you have done any steering related work and what is attributable to steering wheel play ?
I'm thinking something in the steering column could be the culprit, but I'll wait and see what others have found in their experiences.
Thanks
Assuming you’ve already freshened up every joint, rod and hinge in your entire front suspension, the culprit will be the steering shaft coupler.
Hmm, ok thanks. I think I might start with the shaft coupler first. I was under the car last weekend finishing off the manual transmission fluid change and while I had the car up on stands, I did inspect all the steering tie rods etc except the shaft coupler. Tie rods don't have any play, so I'm thinking it's elsewhere. I'll take another look when I get a chance and try and get a closer look at the coupler.
Thanks for your response. (why are there no emojis here ?)
What kind if play? Axial play on the column?
Is the metal right behind the steering wheel correctly fitted?
No emoji's?
