Will disconnecting battery reset the computer?

Does any one know if disconnecting the battery will reset the values stored in the computer? Specifically, I want to be able to reset the fuel trim parameters.

If this will reset the paramters... how long do you need to disconnect the battery to get it to reset?

I don't know if a battery disconnect will reset the adaptation values or not. Use of the proper diag system certainly will and you'd have to use that to find out if a battery reset worked.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

NO it will not...adaptations can only be cleared out with a GT1

You can do a reset using some kind of key on/off procedure. Don't remember exactly what this reset will achieve, but it doesn't cost anything and might do the trick for you.

For details, just do a search for the "easter eggs" thread in e46fanatics
