    Shocks leaking fluid?

Hi all, noticed my car left quite a large fluid spot coming from the rear. It smells like oil but my engine oil and differential is fine.
There is fluid on my shocks.. but I thought they were filled with gas?

They are Bilsteins, sports I think. So my question is, do shocks leak fluid?

If that is the problem, I just need to replace them right? Or do I need to check for anything else? (just replaced RSM's last week)

Leaky Bilstein's is normal. Check out this link...

    From the site:

Coating of film on shock body or piston rod. A completely normal occurrence, not defective.

A film would be normal. I guess one needs to define a large fluid spot.

Yes, it's quite a large spot of a one foot diameter, and it seems to be getting worse.

I guess now I need to find the best place to order two more bilstein shocks

Or replace the whole set. But yeah, those are blown, not leaking. If they leak they should be replaced.
