...they are bursting at the seams with such info!
Very wrong. There are a few links on the e30tech 325ix section that have the numbers on it.Originally Posted by SynSyx

Horrible pic but here's my 2 door iX.
Also check out my cardomain site for more pics - http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2335133
I have a '88 iX with 2 doors as well. Check out this website: http://home.earthlink.net/~wardellhix/iX/ you can find all kinds of information there. I know there is another site that states all the E30's imported into the U.S. some where based on model. I'll have to do some digging...
aright, thanks for all the info.
zomg!! ive got one!!! ..........wait.........
no i dont....
Here's some info I found and posted many months ago. These are North America numbers only and came from a BMW rep. The 91 figures reflect the early end of production due to low sales numbers from 1990. I can't vouch for the accuracy though.

So Kuhl 951 - you have one of three manual 2 doors produced in 1991. That's pretty rare.
His car may be a 91 but it was produced in 1990. I've seen a 1991 5 speed 2 door also.

If those numbers are right. What's rarer yet is that it's still running I was told that the Lazur Blau Metallic is an equally rare color also and there might be only a few iX's ever painted that way. You know it's rare when you can't even get front drive axles anywhere. I'll have to have some custom units built when the time comes.Originally Posted by mattd860

Like I said, I've seen your exact car in NY. It was made in 1990 not 1991. It was even the same color.Originally Posted by Antrieb

Remember though the table shown is model year (MY). My build date was 10/90 and no 91 iX's were 'built' at all in 1991 as the model was cancelled in late 1990 only a few months into 91 MY production. Not trying to argue but if it's a 91 it's a 91, doesn't matter if it was built by lawn gnomes in 1990, it's still a 1991 in all the documents of record.Originally Posted by Antrieb

So are you saying that you have one and I've seen the other of the only 3 2-door 5-speed 91's? Or are you saying that your's falls in the 1990 category?
BMW Man
A build date in 10/90 would never be a 90 model year as they already started production of 91 NY in 6/90. Again it doesn't matter when it was built as long as the Vin shows a 91. Mine was first sold in 5/91 according to records. If you saw 1 of 3 91 ix Coupes I don't know...all I know is that is the sale info from BMW and I have no way to verify it. Does it make the car worth any more, Hell no...it's just another iX not a BugattiOriginally Posted by Antrieb

My 2 door iX production date was 09/1987. So it's an '88 model, 1 of the 56 manuals produced for the U.S.
Kuhl 951, 1 of 3?! If that's true you do have a rare iX.
thos #s are all wrong, ive seen several 2 door 325ixs and im just in new york.
i was looking for one for a while but just have to much going on.
check autotrader.com and youll see what i mean, theirs no way thos #s can be right.

Autotrader shows 4-Coupes 3 w/man.; 1 w/auto (2@88; 1@90)
Cars.com shows 6-Coupes 4 w/man.; 2 w/auto (2@88; 2@89; 1@90;1@91)
*Since one of these was a 91 5-spd Coupe I have to agree the info sent by BMW seems questionable.

Well, I don't know exactly what this contributes to the thread, but I have a 1991 325ix.

-10/90 production date
-currently 240,154 miles
-picture was 225,350 miles

Can't get the pic in the post, says my account doesn't have permission to do so, kinda seems a little queer, how do I get that fixed?
Oh, and also, MevoTech makes replacement CV's for the front of IX's. They aren't going to hold 500HP like Driveshaft shop axles, but they won't click or bind like your worn out stockers.
There is also a 1991 325ix on ebay at the moment.
BMW Man
I checked Ebay, that one is a Schwarz 4 door. So what's the tally now?
2 '91 2 door 5 speed directly accounted for by owners and 1 witnessed by a Bimmerforums member? That's pretty rad if you ask me. I can double check these numbers on monday. I know some folks in Montvale~!
