1994 318is m/s52 swap chassis harness quetions
Hey yall, I'm currently doing an e36 street/track build, and I've come across a problem I can't solve by myself.
I'm in the process of thinning out the wires to those only what I want to keep, just not sure of what I can delete without messing things up completely.
The engine won't be finished for some time so it'll be a while until I know if I did it correctly or not. It would be great if I can get it right on the first try.
Some quick info about the car:
1994 318is slicktop chassis obd1 (build date 12/1993)
413 red lable ecu (will be getting a tune from jordan at rktune)
obd1 m50 engine harness
m/s52 engine (obd1 conversion, still being built lol)
The car is fully gutted right now. The entire wiring harness is out of the car with mostly everything still connected.
What I will NOT be keeping:
entire hvac system (no ac/heat)
abs/asc
powered seats
radio
OBC unit
all speakers, and amps
all interior lights
I know I can trace back the wires and de-pin them at the connector or the fusebox, but when it comes to the body control modules (under the passenger dash) I've got no clue if I can completely bypass the modules or not. My few hours of search weren't very fruitful so here I am.
What I will be keeping:
Engine harness (fuel pump, and speed sensor as well)
Stock dash (I'd like to keep everything working on the dash, I don't care about having lights on for not having abs or whatnot)
All exterior lights, turn signals, powered windows, and central locking system.
Any advices from the e36 gurus would be much appreciated!
p.s. I'll try to add some photos later
