Any way to tell the true mileage ?

cluster has been replaced at some point with used one but nort coded to the car. is there any way to tell the true mileage of the car ?

I believe the ECU records the mileage. Should be able to 'pull' the mileage from the ECU and 'update' the cluster.

Light Control Module records the mileage, not the ECU (DME). You will need software such as INPA to pull it though.

lcm was replaced too and not coded i believe

both these parts were stolen from the car so the PO bought lkq parts to replace them and never coded them

On the e38 the IKE (Cluster) and the LCM store mileage.
