As some know, the second volume of the E39 bentley manual is electrical stuff. Am I missing something, or are the wiring diagrams completely without color coding?
All wires are color coded, albeit with German abbreviations. There's a table in the manual that identifies the color abbreviations.
It does take some real diligence to use the data presented, but it's still valuable.
Have you actually looked at Vol 2?

Here's an example of what some of the codes mean

Actually, I understand that. And I appreciate your outlining that. However, as I was looking at the wiring of the power seats, I saw no color references.
There are 2 letter codes for the colours (taken from german). SW = Black; RT = Red; GN = Green; BR = Brown (I think); White is Weiss, but I don't know what the abbreviation is, probably WS if the others are anything to go by.
Or did you mean that there are no 2-letter codes on the wiring diagrams for the power seats? If so, just disregard the above.
