folks...wonder if a X6 rims 255/50R19 will FIT A 2005 X5 WITH 235/65R17 (STANDARD Package)..?? I was told by a bimmer mech that front is fine but rear wont fit due to different offset. Appreciate inputs.

Rear wheels won't be a problem. You will need hub centric rings for the front wheels. It'll look great.

You can either go with the facts...or with incorrect opinions you're being fed. Someone you spoke to sounds like they don't know the differences between the e53/e70/e71/f15.

Also, tire size and wheel size needs to be looked at separately. Each vehicle has its own overall diameter/circumference...which you can figure out using a simple tire size calculator (google it if you don't already have a site you use). Even if the wheels fit, the tire sizes may be different (you can see what the 17/18/19/20 inch tire sizes are for the e53 by looking on your driver's door or owners manual. If they are different than the equivalent tire size for the e71...then you'll need to not only check the wheel size, but look at mounting the correct tire sizes, too.

Truth: the e71 X6 has a split axle hub size...as mentioned by a forum member above...the e71 has a 74.1mm front hub & a 72.56mm rear hub. The e53 has a 72.56mm hub on all 4 corners. So pick who you want to believe.

Also see the chart below for not only the center bore/hub size...but the wheel offset range, too. You'll need to comparethe offset for each of the e71 wheels you're looking at to see if they are within the e53's offset range...and the front wheel will require hub centric rings or hub centric spacers to accomadate the different hub size and/or front wheel offset:
