Checked the fuel pressure and coils today. Fuel pressure follows boost perfectly and changes when unplugged. Coils all came in at .7ohms.

    I'm lost. Any more suggestions?

Did u try swapping the spring to a lower boost setting?
If you have bavauto coils I bet that's ur issue

That's what I'm going to try next. I'll remove the extra spring and leave the old spring in there and see if it performs the same as it did prior to adding it.

Is it detonating with the higher boost?

Not that I can hear. Its a violent sudden loss of power that I can't accelerate through as the turbo fluctuates sporadically and the afr goes completely lean to 11.3 and back. It doesn't feel like a misfire at all. Car runs perfect otherwise and spools beautifully right up until full boost.

11.3 is on the rich side. Over 12.x is on the lean side.
    I put the x there cause I don't want to start a debate .

Your turbo isn't surging at the higher boost, is it?

That's what I thought it was as It's surging in power and sounds like surging, but the afr change throws me off. Can I confirm or fix it? I'm running an s366 which has an anti surge housing.

I've personally never had surge going into boost, but I would assume the boost pressure would spike up and down, thus the AFRs could go wacky as well.

Your running a 2.5l? How fast does it spool?

Yep, it's just a 2.5l. It sounds like someone places their hand over the compressor at full boost or relieves 5 - 10psi instantly, so you jerk forward then the car tries to going but bucks around. With the new spring it spools significantly faster I would say 4-5k.

The car makes no "blow off" noise, just loses power suddenly. Then tied to make it back up and it cycles

Post a video if you can.
Sounds like you have a hardware issue that is not up to 18psi. Have you tested the lower spring yet?

I'll try to get a video. I won't have time tonight to switch the spring, I should be able to switch back tomorrow and re-check.

OK. When does it happen at what boost level cuts off?

Literally right as the wastegate opens. Which is 17-19psi dependent on creep.

So you hit 17psi, the car looses power, your PSI goes to... zero? and you don't hear the blow off letting the pressure out? Sounds like you are collapsing a hose or similar to that, maybe a piping connector coming loose. Did you test you system for possible vacuum/boost leaks?

I tested it to 20psi and sprayed soap on the connectors yesterday and found no leaks, I'm crazy anal about clamps so every possible connection is worm clamped. The boost only drops 5-10 psi ( hard to tell as the gauges go a little crazy) when it happens there is no noise of pressure loss.

Can you have something collapse post compressor though?

Your car doesn't have an over boost feature, does it?

I saw this guy on YouTube up his boost and it bucked like a bronco cause he forgot to up the over boost. It was funny.

That's what it feels like, almost exactly! I'm only wastegate controlled though, no boost controller. I wish it was that simple!
