SOLD! SOLD! SOLD! SOLD! SOLD!
Up for sale is my 1997 M3 sedan in Alpine White (III) exterior, black nappa leather interior, and factory 5-speed manual transmission. It is 1 of 258 produced for North America in this combination, and one of the cleanest you will find.
I have owned it for 5 years; I purchased it in September 2009 with approximately 117,xxx miles on the odometer in California. I used it on weekends while in school in the Midwest, and as a daily driver to work since moving to Houston. I have personally driven the car across the country three times in the time that I have owned it with absolutely no problems.
In my time of possession, the car has received the following maintenance items:
- Replaced entire cooling system at approx. 120,000 miles. This includes OEM radiator, water pump, thermostat, thermostat housing, hoses, and belts.
- Replaced tie-rods at approx. 125,000 miles with new OEM ones at the dealership.
- New rotors (Brembo blanks) and pads (Axxis/PBR ULT) installed May 2012
- New pads (OEM) installed Feb 2014. I swapped the Axxis out because they were too noisy for my liking. The OEM are perfectly quiet.
- Rear trailing arm bushing (RTAB) pocket reinforcement plates welded in at 125,000 miles.
- New front control arms and bushings (FCAB) installed at 125,000 miles.
- Oil changed with Rotella T6 5W-30 every 5,000 miles.
The car also includes the following upgrades:
- TC Kline S/A Coilovers - purchased new from Bimmerworld in September 2011, installed at approximately 125,000 miles
- Vorshlag Camber Plates - purchased new from Bimmerworld in September 2011, installed at approximately 125,000 miles
- Active Autowerke 3rd Generation Exhaust - purchased new from Bimmerworld in September 2011, installed at approximately 125,000 miles
- 17" x 9.5" ET35 APEX ARC-8 Wheels - purchased new from APEX in January 2013
- OEM E46 M3 Steering Wheel (with working horn and signal return function)
- OEM E46 ZHP Weighted Shift Knob
- OEM E36/7 Z3 Business CD Radio
- OEM Bosch Glass Headlights (Imported from Germany)
- OEM Euro Clear Taillights (Imported from Germany)
- OEM X-brace
I'm probably forgetting some things even now, so if there's something you have questions about, feel free to ask.
Asking price: $10k, or best reasonable offer. Is it priced higher than that E36s you can find on your local Craigslist? Yes. But, it's hasn't been abused, and doesn't have a hundred owners like many of those cars do. I don't owe anything on the car, so I am in no hurry to sell. I recently purchased a daily, so the E36 has been relieved of daily duty (and as a result, mileage).
Let's keep this discussion civil, please.

So, how many miles are on the car now?

Looks really clean! Bump
Fantastic car! GLWS!!
Damn it. This car is close to me and in great condition. I just don't know if I can afford to keep up with whatever miscellaneous maintenance costs come up
Price seems very appropriate for the amount of work and condition the car is in. Shes a beauty, Glws!!
Very nice. GLWS.
Do the rear seats fold and where in Houston are you located?
^ sold
for those of us on the app, where is the car located
Thanks!
Unfortunately, the rear seats do not fold down.
I spend most of my time either inside the loop or in the Energy Corridor.
The car is located in Houston.
If you DIY it, the costs are quite low. The car is quite easy to work on, parts are relatively cheap...
You have PM!

Cleared it out. I think yours is full too.

Awesome car man! I'd love to bring it back to CA. Just gotta get rid of my forester first :/ GLWS!
Has any of the smog equipment has been removed, disconnected or modded? California DMV is IRS Jr.
I have a 69 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce 1750 that I'm selling in order to get a more reasonable DD. Your car is among the models I'm looking at... BTW, the E39 touring will be up for sale as soon as the new DD is in my garage, just saying...
