Crankcase is venting oil into the intake... if it is enough to leak, that's alot of oil though.
Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by hundreds of engineers that get paid thousands of dollars for something you bought at Pep Boys because your buddy who doesn't have a job told you it was 'better'?!?

Not as familiar with these, but when the 2.7TT audis do this it can be a sign of the oil seals in the turbos.

This too could be the problem...

There will always be oil in the intake ducting of a turbo engine. The real question is how much is acceptable?

Residue maybe, not liquid. He makes it sound like his intercooler is leaking oil like a rad leaks coolant. Not good. I'm guessing since he can't check oil level that is down too.

Turbo oil seals was my first thought. I may just be paranoid from previous Audi 2.7TT ownership though.

OP how much oil? Residue I wouldn't be too worried, a half a shot glass worth between oil changes would be an issue.
