    Winter rims and tires

    What is better 18 inch or 19 inch rim size for winters having trouble deciding.

    18inch because 19 in winters a very expensive and sometimes tough to get

    What does the wheel diameter have anything to do with it? Besides the obvious, as pointed out above, that 19inch will be harder to find and more expensive.

    What matters is the tread pattern, and the width. For winter tires you want something a little more narrow so it can cut through the snow. Too many people think the wider the tire the better for grip. When it comes to snow you want to cut through, with wide tires they just sit on top and slide.

    Thanks decided to go with 18 and your right more weight on smaller surface makes for better traction.
