    anyone tried this short shifter

I like that it has a metal ball, and its steel so if I don't like something about it or it doesn't fit quite right, I can modify it easily with my welder.

    also its cheap lol

im going to attempt to install it in a e46.

I'd go with a oem z4 shifter in your e46.
Life is like a car wash and I'm on a bicycle.

I was about to, but there pretty spendy now for a stock piece. and im not %100 sure it will work in my swapped e46 with a 97 e36 drivetrain without having to bend it or anything anyways. eitherway, if this one sucks, it was only $20 (it went up a couple bucks after I purchased it) I can always buy a z4 m shifter.

I installed this last night, had to drill out the bushings at the end of the shifter because the inner diameter was too small, otherwise it works fine. its very "notchy" compared to the stock shifter. seems to have reduced throw a good amount, %30 or whatever they claim is probably about right. would like to try a z4 m shifter to compare but price was right. would be nice if they told you what thread they put on the knob end.
