Metal Diving Board Replacement

Hey guys, sorry if this has already been posted but I couldnt find anything else online.

anyways. Im not a big fan of the metal diving board bumpers on my 1987 325ES and I was just wondering what my options are of changing them.

Ive heard about the bumper tucks but wouldnt that effect the valance/apron positioning on the car???

and can I possibly remove the plastic bumpers and install the plastic ones from 1988+

pretty sure you just drill out the bumper shocks so you can push the bumper in to sit closer to the car then many people use chrome vinyl to replicate the euro bumper look
