Thumbs up Control Arm Installation (Important Information)

    Hey guys,

This is a big mistake that I learned about when I was doing the control arms on my truck so I wanted to share and hopefully educate people so they dont make the same mistake on their BMW
Changing out a control arm is easy so dont mess up the job by tightening the control arm with the wheel off the ground (suspension unloaded)
Let me know what you think!

sometimes you can't do this though. Especially on a lower BMW. Also the bushings on the BMW are just pressed in on e46s. The only other issue you could have is from tightening the 4 balljoints but those always can be tighten unloaded.

You can do it on any car... 4x4 or laying frame....

Just measure the distance from the center of the wheel to the fender lip on the ground and use a jack to load the suspension to the same position while its on a lift and tighten everything down.

    Its not rocket science.

Yep, or I used to leave the tire off, put a jack stand under the lower ball joint, and rest the cars weight on the jack stand. Tighten the bushings and done.

I have carburetors, and I'm not afraid to use them!
