    Would you DD this?

Thinking about selling the e36 for this e30 And DD'ing it. It only needs the skirts, fender and bumpers painted theres a couple other spots but I figure 2-3 cans of paint, primer, clear and a weekend of painting and sanding and this car would look great. besides needing those things painted it need a rain gutter and on side moulding, blower motor and a radio all of which can be sourced cheaply and he said he might have a radio laying around i can have. There are e30's here at the yards I can pull the trim pieces off of as long as early model trim will work. coping the cl add word for word so no one can steal me car lol... o he wants 2500 firm not bad i think....

I'm selling my 1989 BMW 325is 5-speed. It is in need of some bodywork, but the engine/transmission/suspension is all good. I recently had the timing belt, water pump, A/C belt, serpentine belt, Power Steering belt, cap and rotor all replaced, along with the valve cover gasket. I also had the valves adjusted. The M20B25 motor runs strong, and the clutch has no slippage. The Getrag transmission is solid, and all gears pull strongly. Around 110k miles on the engine and chassis. It has a tan Sport interior, 5 basketweave wheels (full-size spare in the trunk) along with power windows, power sunroof. Tires are 80% or so. I had the rust under the battery tray repaired professionally, and had a new tail panel installed as well (old one had some rust). I have many parts for the vehicle. Here's a list of some of the parts:

Brand new OEM replacement tail panel (installed professionally)
    Reconditioned headlights
Reconditioned center caps with new roundels
Bavarian Autosport Ultimate brake rotors (front and rear)
    Brake lining sensors
    New battery (6/13)
Reconditioned Gauge cluster w/ carbon fiber bezel
    Reconditioned Steering wheel (3-spoke OEM)
    Z3 short shifter (not installed)
Custom shift boot/ebrake boot (black leather with red stitching)
Central locking wiring harnesses for both doors
    Rear Strut bar
Replacement trunk lid with Hartge spoiler
Bentley Manual (excellent repair and service manual for e30s)
    Black carpet
    Black rear door cards

$2500 FIRM, I have a lot more than that into the car.
This would make an excellent autocross car, or with some TLC a reliable daily driver. I've been working on it less and less, and no longer have room to store it. I have put new bumpers and front valence (lachsilber), a new passenger front fender (zinnoberot?) on, as the originals were damaged. The passenger low beam headlight is currently not working, most likely a wiring issue. The car has a clean title, and straight frame and body, aside from a few dents in the hood. If you have any questions, shoot me an email.

*The interior is not currently in the car, I plan on getting it back into the car in the next few days.

LOL! What doh said. But to answer your question, yes I would DD it depending on condition (excluding body because we can see that it's jacked). $2500 is a tad bit steep but maybe he has parts on it worth something. It's worth a second look IMO.

That car will still need a ton of work and since he took the interior out he probably found a big problem and just said screw it and is trying to sell it. Car probably has "around 110k" cuz odo gears are out i'm guessing? Lets of missing info. Sounds like a $1500 car but obviously the current market is inflated. At least no diving boards.

I've been talkin to him. Only thing that was taken out of the interior is the seats and door cards. Carpet has never been touched. He said the old odo broke at 100k and it wasn't driven much after the odo broke. So he said it's has 110k-115k on it an he replaced the cluster with a new one with working gears. He said it hasn't been driven since new parts were added and he's done quite a bit.

No. That car had a vast amount of rust, and you have no idea how good a job he did removing it. It's vastly more work to get it done than you think, and a quicky paint job will look like ass.

done properly a quick paint can turn out good. Il gonna probably get a Schwarz fender so most of the repainting will be in small in noticeable spots cause the skirts will be done with undercoating type paint. The rust was professionally fixed said it cost him almost 2k to fix all the rust.

According to him. And that's not that impressive, either. I bet they did not even rust proof inside the rocker panels. And with that much rust, I guarantee that they missed a bunch of spots.

You'd be better off spending twice as much (up front) on a car that isn't a piece of crap.
