    IS EcoBoost

Finally getting some bits together for my DD/trackable budget boost baby beater.

    The car:

Budget kit...so the turbo is the major concern for reliability, rightly or wrongly. There are also some sharp edges(pics) The kit was packed very well, and there there were some nice bits, like beveled edges on the intake and exhaust piping...full hardware,software/injectors/etc.

I had to buy some street/track pads, and new rotors, and decided just to replace the front brakes with a UUC BBK. Track pads are actually cheaper for these than stock calipers. I have DTC-30's on now...a bit noisy, but functional on the street, and trackable:
UUC 11.75 kit....bolts right on- you do have to ditch the retaining hex bolt(with theL-wrench in it in the pic) , otherwise wheels won't sit flush:
    Spec 15's fit over these:

make sure to loctite these !

I wanted to fit 245/255's onto the e30, so I went with 17x8 +25's. XXR 531s with Dunlop Direzza Z1 star specs for fitment test (255/40 rears required massive beating with a bat, hammer and a pickaxe to fit (outside/inner-upper fender).

As soon as the bumper comes in for the e34, I can put the turbo bits on the e30....hopefully within the next two weeks...Barber and TGPR track days coming up.

I picked up some 15x8 TRMs...They needed 20mm spacers to fit over the UUC BBK in front.
    Hoosier SM7s spec miata tires.
These should be good until I get flares to fit the 17 contis.

So a budget build, just wondering, how much did this call all together? And how much work was involved, pretty complicated?

I haven't turboed it yet, and unfortunatlely haven't made it to the track yet, but am aiming for the next day @ Barber Motorsports in March.

Nothing so far has been complicated. Aside from the turbo bits (~$2k) The UUC BBK was the biggest expense ~$900, and some money could, at least in the short term, be saved here. Track pads and fluid on stock brakes could probably get close to the performance of this, but I felt in the long run , very cheap pads for the UUC kit would come close to the repeated cost of stock sized track pads

The wheels were ~$400 per set, and I grabbed the used SM7's for ~$100. I think the spacers for the front were ~$50 and the clutch disc was ~ $200 iirc

I will tally up the total once I get it finished.

Managed to get it out NA on track at Barber while they are setting up for the IndyCar race:
Spring rates are roughly (soft) front 176lb (for comparison H&R race fronts are 315) and 570 (H&R race) rear.
Soft (vs. rear) front springs, and a finrt bbk should promote oversteer (rear end trying to pas the front)but I found the car happily neutral. It definitely felt less tail happy than my turbo mr2, and more so than my e34 525/535/540i/635csi/240sx's/etc.
On the street my e34 540i feels more predictable, and I thought this might be reflected on the track.I was wrong. The e30 is much more responsive (lol-preaching to the choir) than the e34, especially the throttle-modulated oversteer.
The UUC brakes paired with Hoosier SM7s (205/15x8) were amazing. I was outbraking everyone.
Other than under-accelerating every car out there it was fun. My point-to-pass- arm (left) is sore....but this may help to balance out the masturabatorilly large right arm.
