Gotta have rake.
Rake it up!!!!!

MODS..we should have a dedicated, moderated, gallery for each type of picture that usually gets asked.. Gallery for E38's on 18's, then one on 19's..gallery for dropped E38, with proper one lined description (no double entries or showing cars that arent lowered etc).. i think i suggested it before, not sure. it would help organize all the E38's so when we search later (like i have done many times as well), we have one place to go to..just a thought.

Yea thats a great idea.
Here is another shot taken after trying to lessen the rake....

And another...
Now that is pretty damn good. Looks so sleek and streamlined that way... Hugs the ground perfectly!
Looks perfect! Who cares about wheel gap as long as it looks sleek and luxurious like that. Unless your really into the E38 dragster look. In that case order up some slicks and narrow the rear because IMO only pickup trucks and dragsters should have rake

Rake!
I don't think there's much privacy left in that privacy fence.
Thanks for the feedback guys!!!
LOL at cobrajet: yeah that shot is at a vacant rental house that I have; and turns out the raggedy fence was installed 3ft too much on my side by someone long time ago.
if I rent it out, tenants gotta take it as is, otherwise rent has to go up to make it private again!!!
once I touch it, the code enforcement will want me to get a permit and spent $$

No rake for you!
This subject reminds me of my favorite car movie when I was a kid, the Junkman. So, no rake for me
Dville: It's perfect now.

Neither, wish I never lowered my front end. The car just doesn't have the same lines and there's too many dips and driveways on most city streets. I could see if our cars were on European race tracks but they aren't. Even then, the 7 is all about uber class and comfort anyway... I'm going back to stock springs and getting larger wheels to eliminate the gap. Also, do you ever feel silly on the freeway when you look over at all the new 5s and 7s and feel like you're about to get run over... It seems as though BMW is creating ever more masculine snouts that very pronounced, I kind of like that and realize that my car now looks like some sort of red-neck wanna be nascar box on wheels. Time to bring her back.

That's a personal choice.
Car customizers from all the way back to the 50's lowering it is typically the first thing that changes the look of the car the most (besides paint).
Uber class and comfort from a 13 year old car? I'm beyond trying to pass this car of as new, I want mine sublty customized.
Sound like you are tired of the look and need to buy a new car.
The E38 has a thinner, pencil like profile (which is appealing to me), and new cars have a bulky profile with higher door lines and smaller windows.
To me, that thinner profile fits better with less gap under the car, that's why I lowered it.

A little rake is good. Mine is lowered 0.9 inches in the front on OEM sport springs. But it's still too much. I'll be installing the rear sport springs too. That will reduce the rake to 0.4 inches which is perfect in my opinion.

Dropped on 7treasure lowering springs (not sure of the exact amount - I got the car with this setup):
(9/94, GF61, JPN: M60B40, ZF 5HP30, 3.15:1)
(5/06, FB53, US: N62B44, ZF GA6HP26Z, 3.46:1)
I really like the raked look with the e38, goes well with its lines. when the rear is lower than the front it looks off
edit:
i got the most rake in here. a little too much im gonna raise the front ups when i get new tires

Hey, "steal" whichever pictures you like, as long as you think they are good ones! I actually just moved around my Photobucket albums to separate the "good" pictures (that's a relative term, I am still learning) into their own album. Here is the link. You can blow any of them up to full-size if you want.

I need links to lowering springs and which I should buy? BMW and E38 virgin...
