Hi guys ime new to this site and looking for some advice ive got a bmw 318ci convertable and the engine is goosed i think it would be cheaper to get a new engine ime just wondering does it have to be the same engine 318ci or could i use any e46 also does it have to be the same size engine
is english your second language because i dont unnerstan what goosed is and ime gonna look that up so mybe then icould unnerstan waht the problem could be an cud givea you some advise sometime too

Learn to read between the lines if you dont understand what a specific term means. Its not hard.
OP you can use any period-correct engine from the same model car. Convertibles do not have different engines from coupes or sedans, you can usually use Wikipedia or something similar to find out what engine your car has, if its an E46 4 Cylinder it should be a N42 and you can use any N42 engine, though I think that was only used on the E46 3 series. Any coupe/sedan/convertible engine will work, they are not body style specific.
