BMW builds hotel for its Munich workers

Looks like BMW still loves Hitler's national socialist ideology.

Munich is the most expensive place to live in Germany and with rents on the rise, BMW, one of the city’s biggest employers, has decided to build a hotel to house its workers. In 2015, BMW plans to battle the rising rents by opening a 270-room hotel for its short-term workers in Munich's northwestern district of Moosach.

The car manufacturer intends to use the three-storey building to house foreign workers and as a transitional home for German employees.

It will also serve as accommodation for BMW trainees who cannot afford the high Munich rents.

Seriously, what does any of this have to do with Hitler? I think that is a quite inappropriate analogy

Yeah, instead of letting their short term (temporary) employees pay ridiculous housing costs, they're building a hotel and providing it free ... yep, just like Hitler. GTFO.

Why do you think its not proper analogy? You don't know much about history and base your thought on Hollywood ww2 movies. When Hitler took power he ordered industrial revolution using his socialist ideology, housing was built right next to factories to house workers next to factories to improve production, later when the war started those same free worker housing was used to house force labor prisoners.

Munich is very expensive! This is a great opportunity for the BMW employees. I toured the BMW Museum, showroom and auto plant last summer===it was awesome. The employees are prideful to work for BMW and the company takes good care of all of their employees. Many travel great distances on a train to work everyday for their families....this is just another option to provide housing for them. A world class operation!

Save the Jews and throw OP in the oven...

Hitler didn't order an "industrial revolution" - he increased armaments production to prepare for war, along with a lot of other grass roots type social projects. The average person couldn't get a car in Nazi Germany because a lot of manufacturing resources where being used for armaments gearing up for war.

What BMW is doing is exactly like what Hitler is doing - except they aren't producing armaments, aren't gearing up for war, aren't using slave labor, and aren't participating in a fascist dictatorship.

Sorry OP, building a hotel for your worker's to voluntarily live in for a job they voluntarily choose to work at doesn't amount to Nazism.

    Now GTFO.

They've been doing this in other countries for decades, but when Germany does it it is because Hitler

I never knew that the world hated WW2-era Germany for their hotel accomadations, not, you know... the mass murdering of millions of people. But admittedly I don't know a lot about history.

Arizonans man... Worst kind of people

Ok, this guy's obviously gone off the deep end. This thread should be towed to OT, don't you think?

If Hitler died prior to 1939 of natural causes the world would remember him in a positive light. He was time magazines man of the year I think a couple of years in a row.

In any case it's not the socialist policies that made him an evil bastard, it's the genocide.

Time does not put people on the cover who are necessarily noble people. They put people on the cover who's impact on the world was the greatest for good or bad.

    From wikipedia:
Person of the Year (formerly Man of the Year) is an annual issue of the United States newsmagazine Time that features and profiles a person, group, idea or object that "for better or for worse...has done the most to influence the events of the year".

Nevertheless, if he died prior to the start of the second world war, we would remember him in a very different light. Germans certainly would.

Maybe if he died in 1930 I could agree with that statement, but then he wouldn't be remembered at all. Persecution of the jews started well before ww2, and if not for ww2 I think that he would still be thought of in a poor light. After all, Stalin came out of ww2 looking good and his reputation isn't smelling like roses either.

We can agree to disagree here.
