I know a lot on this forum are geared towards the newer cars generally 1990 and newer, however, I felt this was an interesting story worth sharing. I hope you can appreciate a vehicle as rare and unique as this, especially when it has such a crazy story behind it.
As part of the Drive 4 Corners BMW meet, we release weekly BMW-related content to those interested in the community. This week, we have the pleasure of presenting the unique backstory behind Ben In Denver's 2000 Touring.
Nowadays, 2002's are becoming a rare car. Few are seen at car meets, and fewer are seen on city streets. Yet, an even more rare sight is the European import hatchback E6 platform. Take a look at one this week, along with the unique story that it holds.

As a child I can remember the garage door opening and seeing the Touring for the very first time. I was 4 years old and the year was 1977.
The story goes that the Touring was rear-ended 10 minutes after purchase and it took almost $1,400 and a year of restoration before the car was completed in June of 1979. My dad, Dennis Ryan, was always very active in the BMWCCA and was an integral part of Rocky Mountain chapter since it’s inception in the 70s.

Thanks to Ben for being willing to share his story! There is just something about an 02 Touring that was executed so perfectly!

Amazing car!
The old bimmers look awesome. Every year. So much win in the 70s.
Life is like a car wash and I'm on a bicycle.
Funny you should post this as I just purchased a 72 Touring this past weekend...

Hennarot suits that car perfectly. I love the body lines. Wonder if there are any photos of the crash damage.
I love the front corner shot of that car. Quite a nice car indeed.
