Link to some great pics from the event at the BMW plant last weekend. Not mine just found them on another forum.
The 8 Series pics are first (naturally).

Great pictures, thanks
Here are a few more shots of the 8's that turned out for the Euro Auto Festival this year. Only 4 were entered in the 8 Class which was sort of disappointing (we had 6 last year). I think the weather and the new pre-registration arrangement might have kept a few away. On the bright side, Dr Randy Muecke did attend this year and brought the 1st 850CSi imported into the USA VIN#CD00001). This is a 30K mile car that he has owned since 1999). Randy told me that this is the only Brillrot (308) Red CSi that came to the US.
This is Bruce Brutschy's '94 840Ci
This is George Melanis' '94 840Ci
This is Randy Muecke's 850CSi CD00001
This is my 850CSi CD00049 ... got those M Tech mirrors on b4 the show
I was disappointed that my friend George Whiteley did not bring his 850CSi (CD00057 Hellrot (314) Red) that he brought last year
His excuse was his new toy below (beautiful '71 2800CS)

Great pics, thanks for sharing.
I saw that 2800CS in the other pictures, that is a beautiful car.
Ed....Your car is looking so good -- look forward to seeing it at SESF next year. We may have a number of 8s there.

I just googled SESF 2014 and only got the old ones. Is there any info on this yet? I would like to attend if I could plan for it.

The date and place of the next SESF doesn't usually come out until January -- look for it to be in late April or early May. Check the website in January and either Ed or I will also post a notice on this board.

Yes -- IF I don't sell the M6 before then and IF I can find a second driver. I'm not in to trailerin'!

Wanna see all 400 cars that entered the event ....... click on this link and then choose participants by entry time. The event photographer shot each car as it entered the event.
Excellent photos !!

wow, nice gathering of CSi's! Didnt CD00001 used to belong to Steve CAstle? I'm just curious if the new owner also knows who now owns Steve Castle's Santorini Blue CSi.

I met Randy for the 1st time at the show. He told me he was the 2nd owner and had purchased the car in 1999 when it had under 20K on the clock .... it now has 32K. We only talked for a few minutes. He left his car to view the other cars on display.... I had hoped to visit with him more, but he left early . That is all the info I have.

I am hoping sharkfest next year will have a good supply of e9 as well as e31 cars to make this a "coupefest" for all generations of sharks....not just the e24! I might leave my 635 home and drive the 850. At least if it is hot, I will have a decent A/C for the drive down and back!
Great Link. Thanks.
After getting thru about half of the pictures I need to vent a little. There were at least half a dozen Fiat 500's (late model not the original) and I'm only on pic 374. I tried to register for this event and couldn't as they already had their 400 car maximum. I'm sure its a nice car but that many at a car show?? Seems out of place at an event like this to me but maybe its simply first come first served. If that's the case I guess we are lucky that there were no late model Toyota's and Honda's there. But then again I have 494 pics to go. I will keep you all posted.
Kai & Nat have always made an effort to make the SE Sharkfest an "inclusive" event ..... so what you are suggesting makes sense. "CoupeFest" I like that description

Sorry to hear you missed the opportunity to participate. I actually think the pre-registration requirement is a big improvement over past years when they allowed you to register on arrival the morning of the show. #1 it allows all models of the various brands to be placed together (because they know ahead of time how many of a given brand will be attending and can lay out and assign parking spaces accordingly). In years past they did not know how many BMW's (or other models) would be attending, and various classes got spread out all around. #2 It cut down the waiting time when arriving because parking was already assigned. I was in and parked in 5 minutes. In the past, this has taken 15-20 minutes, no fun when you are driving a car that tends to run hot when sitting and idling for very long.
As for all the Fiat 500's, I see only 2 classes listed (Fiat 1 & Fiat 2). Looks like the older models were the Fiat 1's and took 3 of the 5 awards in the Fiat class. Perhaps the Fiat Club just did a good job of getting their members to attend. Their award total certainly does not look out of proportion. New or old Toyotas and Hondas are always relegated to the parking lot at this "Euro" event. I was surprised by the Chrysler Crossfires I saw displayed ..... then I remembered it was a Karmann/MB320 collaboration.
Get yourself registered early next year ..... seeing these cars in person and talking with the owners is worth a thousand pictures

Will do. Sorry I missed it. I thought the same thing about the Crossfires but also considered the MB thing. Bit of a stretch IMO.
Photos from this year's show are now online at http://stevescartography.wordpress.com
Great pics thanks for the link...I overheard three gentleman who mentioned a turbocharged MG. Having owned a MG Midget when I was in college I was curious. I found it and the MGB that now looks like a Cobra kit car, complete with a 302 Cobra V8, roll bar etc...A lot of bodywork...Whatever rocks your boat! Got me to thinking about the 1963 Vauxhall Victor Wagon my Dad brought back from England and graced the streets of Kansas City for several years before it was totaled on night by a drunk driver. I didn't have my 8 at the festival but I did drive my Dad's 1993 Mark VIII, which has an aluminum block cast by Teksid in Italy...it also has Robert Bosh electronics in the guts of relay modules and now doubt that some of the metal in that car was not mined and produced domestically...but it was still a product sold by the Ford Motor Co.

My ramblings on EuroFest 2014
First, it was great to spend 2200 miles on the open road with my best friend and wife of 36 years. The downtime from work was needed.
In foggy recollection of order:
Catching up with Rich (Kruzen840)
The awesome run we had to the Varsity using some possessed white minivan as the rabbit
BS'ing in the Varsity parking lot with new & old friends
The not so awesome run from the Varsity to the BMWCCA Foundation open house
Hanging out at the Hilton House of Eights bar enjoying shots inside and beers outside (because of that troublemaker Nikki)
The 8@25 Banquet (good food, Great people)
Learning what went on behind the scenes (Big Thanks for the hard work!) into forming our BMWCCAE31 chapter
Buying Bob's (Chillax) 8-Ball E31 stickers
More BS'ing in the Hilton parking lot until (only) midnight (because I'm a geezer)
Enjoying "The Oasis"
Seeing all that I did of Eurofest (sorry, didn't take many pics) and appreciating the preferred parking (Thank you Georgie!)
Sneaking out early to get back to the House of Eights (more shots, beer & oasis time)
Enjoying the Eurofest banquet (via shuttle, thanks Greg!) and seeing 8'ers getting some love (Thank you again, Georgie!)
Hanging out in the Embassy's smoking section with fellow nasty habiteurs (yeah, I made that word up)
Back to the House of Eights (via shuttle, thanks again, Greg!)
Up late Sunday morning to see an abandoned parking lot (all good things come to an end... until next time)
Heading for home
I did take one pic (that came out) that was kind of neat. A great parking spot at the Eurofest:
