There are a group of people in my local Mercedes club that are placing a group buy for the VDO Kienzle MCR-1016BT. This is normally not available in North America, but we've spoken to their salespeople there, and they are willing to ship overseas. All in is going to be around $200 CAD shipped, and we can work out getting this to Americans too. If there's any interest here, I'll put a hold on the Mercedes club buy.

hhmm...not bad...looks like just another OBC installed. I'd love to see it installed in an 8er though. I'm also wondering about the illumination color and if it matches the BMW orange lighting.

Here's a pic of the unit in case anyone is wondering:

    CB42366 - 1991 850i 6-speed. Brilliantrot & Black Nappa Leather
    CD00144 - 1994 850CSi. Hellrot & Black Nappa Leather

Pix pleaseee!! Night and day shots would be awesome so we can see the shade of the illumination.

Dark: (The difference in brighness is quite noticeable here, but not much irl)

    With interior light on:

    And with flash:

The sound quality is very good, but it's stripped of features. All you have is AUX in.
I also had a problem with the OEM telephone wiring, it kept engaging and disengaging the Mute on the unit.
On the adapter that came with i just cut the Telephone-wire.

Instead of making a new thread, I figure I'd bump this since it has a wealth on info on this deck already.

This deck has bluetooth connectivity, do you control the tracks on your phone or other BT device or can you control it through the deck? Thanks.

Since creating this thread i've updated from the M1014 to the M1016 BT - the newer with Bluetooth, steering wheel button support etc. Sound quality is immediately improved. BT is controlled partially via the deck, as in play/pause next/previously you can do on the deck. Searching etc. is still via the music. It does not show song title on the dispaly, just A2DP.

The blue illumination makes it look out of place , especially in the dark.
