Upgraded the TT intercooler to a 24x12x4

Finally got the car back from Zury's after nearly a month. He got backed up and took longer than planned, but I am certainly happy with the end result.

Went with a 24x4x12 which has to be shoehorned in this car if your running a electric pusher fan. Had to be angled to fit in. Also the biggest hurdle for Brian was the need for my Motion underpanel to have its supports installed which are directly in the way of the charge piping from the turbo. He worked it out and still was able to fit a 3" intake pipe in place of the oval pipe I had before.

I lost my brake ducts but i'm ok with that, they aren't functional on this car anyway at least from the factory.

Now to decide if I want to keep the pipes polished, powdercoat them red....or black. Oh the choices.

The bottom line though is the car is pulling like a beast, best I've ever felt it. Just like Rukman said this was the upgrade that unleashed the beast when your upgrading the TT stg II kit piece by piece.

    the pics

    As I picked it up

    clears the underpanel supports

    Transition to 3"

Installed all new fender liners and hardware. Had to be a little bit of trimming on both sides to clear the charge piping but it was very minimal, all back together

After a great drive today, cold side charge pipe was totally cool to the touch after the drive....its working!!!!

    =======================================

I WILL HAVE THE CHARGE PIPING AND INTERCOOLER FROM MY TT KIT FOR SALE VERY SOON. COLD SIDE WAS DONE TOTALLY CUSTOM, HARD PIPED AND VBAND FOR TIAL BOV.

Did you start off with a trm or technique tuning kit? I am trying to decide on what kit to go with. Great looking result, love your car.

Can't wait for my 31x12x4, I wish I had a fabricator close to home that did good work like this.

So there is a huge difference from before to now?

As in will show on the dyno or just a feeling its doing better pull after pull because it's not getting heat soaked?

I started off with an older TT kit, the old kits had a smaller intercooler i'm pretty sure i was pushing way too much cfm for it.

I'm sure it would show on a dyno, it felt very noticeable to me. Heat soak will also be reduced but based on my ever so NOT accurate butt dyno it is pulling much harder and stronger to redline.

    Very nice!

I've been thinking about picking up the motion Motorsport panel myself. Probably will have to mod it or the piping to get the brackets to fit.

    Any dyno action planned?

    Looks great Matt!

TT stage 2 is under the sub-frame piping?

Notice any drop in pressure going from the 3" to 4"

Yes my kit was under. Its fine.

Actually I did notice a slight drop had to turn up the eboost from 39 to 41 to get back to 17psi peak...... feels great with the added flow from all the tweaks.

Keep it polished to help reflect some of the heat.

I left the stock mesh on the bumper to protect the IC and make it look not as polished loud.

That's what I will be doing as well. The mounting pins for the mesh on my bumper are damaged. Need to find another mounting solution.

I drilled small holes and used small zip ties to hold the mesh after I cut back the opening to fit my IC. Looks good to me, but my car is a driver, not a show car.

Pics of the old charge piping? I might be interested in the hot side as mine currently sits too low.
