Outer door handle help

I have a 1993 BMW 318is two door I have to replace my outer door handle assembly, had a few questions because I've never done this before, okay first do I have to get a new key made for that door handle? I found a outer door handle for same key same color everything at a salvage yard near me would that be a good or bad idea to get it from them since it doesn't come with keys or should I go the expensive route with doing this get the part and new keys but then if have a key to open my door n key to start it is there anyway I can use the same key for ignition n door I use for it now and just get it keyed for that for or something please help any opinions will be a great help thanks !

Its easier to keep all of the pieces in the tumbler when you pull it out, then you can switch out the tumbler from your broken handle into the new one without dealing with the "wafers". Beware though this job is a royal PITA.
