So... I am finally doing it, my Touring is up for sale. Heidi has to go . I don't even get to drive it much anymore.
HISTORY
This is a 1995 BMW 540i T (Touring). It’s a Grey Market car that was imported to the US and was Federalized. It is an ALL original E34 540iT from the factory. BMW did not bring the E34 540 Touring to the USA. While the car is not an ///M5 Touring, it is still unique on its own merit, particularly here in the United States. Other than converted cars, it is near impossible to find a factory BMW 540iT of this era.
I acquired the car with 103,000 miles in March of 2010. I acquired it as a restoration project. There have been many updates and modifications along the way as well as maintenance work and repairs carried out. It is not quite where I want it to be, but it has been a great project and the car is 100 times better than it used to be.
To date, the car now has 132,000 miles on it. While not entirely a garage Queen, it is not a Daily Driver as I live in the City. Most of the mileage is from open road drives – to Las Vegas NV, Phoenix AZ, Los Angeles CA, San Diego CA, Portland OR, and Seattle WA. The car has never let me down, never left me stranded – from the insane summer heat of AZ to the wet balmy weather of the Pacific North West, its been a very reliable traveler and interstate runner.
Things like brakes, suspension, interior, exterior and such have been upgraded or updated. It is now a very good looking car which has added to its uniqueness and appeal. It still has some quirks and fix-it items, so I hope I can find the car a good new home and someone who will appreciate it for what it is and do a little more work on her to make it perfect.
I have enjoyed my ownership of this car – with it’s ups and downs and getting through learning experiences. It will be tough to see her go, hope it goes to a good home. It has a clean California title.
SOLD!!!

seeing your car in the forum was one of the reason why I decided to a Touring, hopefully mine will look as good as yours, good luck with the sale.
Tempting...
Sorry to clutter your thread (free bump), but would you happen to know the brand or name of that tint? I always assumed it was the glass! I'd love to have that on my car.

Thanks.... Good luck with your build. I am sure it will turn out just as nice or better.
Sometimes it is good to fall into temptation....
I will have to find out for you, I discovered it by accident to be honest.
Got it and will respond.
Bump for a stand-up guy!
It's ALL ball bearings nowadays!
So sad that she has to go. You and Heidi were the first of the e34 group I met! Hope the next owner takes as good of care as you did my friend! GLWS. I wish I had the cash so I can add another Touring to my driveway
