    LED angel eyes flickering..

Ok I installed LED angel eyes and they flicker from the lcm check, when the car is running all lights are off. I have them connected to the parking light(front). I checked all the connections, it's all connected as per write up i found either on here or bimmerboard, can't remember I've read so much. My question is how can I get around this ? I don't have a navcoder or anything I tried some resistors but that dimmed the angel eyes.. HELP!!!!

Unfortunately you can't. The cold monitoring can't be turned off 100%. You can run power directly through a separate switch or tap in the e-box and have them come on whenever the key is on.

To get rid of the flickering, install a relay. Use the wire you currently are tapped into to turn on the relay, and get a fused constant 12v to supply power to the angel eyes.
That way, you still use the same method of activation, but get rid of the flickering since you'll now be using a smooth power source like a battery.

Very simple. Most of the LED AE's now come with a relay wiring harness that doesn't need anything but correct installation, for those of you without a relay, do the following.

The power source needs to be redone to remove it from a cold monitoring circuit, which is done by a relay.
A relay is either on or off, there is nothing in between. A voltage spike from cold monitor check will not change or alter the function of a relay.

You'll need an automotive relay, relay pigtail and a little bit of wire (16-18 gauge is more than enough for AE's). All can be had at your local auto parts store.

Refer to this diagram of Relay Terminals:
Terminal 87 - Power wire going to angel eyes
Terminal 86 - Your old power source for angel eyes, this will activate the relay and turn on the AEs exactly like before
    Terminal 85 - Chassis ground
Terminal 30 - Fused 12v power source, can be directly from the battery with an inline fuse.

Ok DUDMD, so your saying I hooked it up wrong, my kit has a relay I have a red (fused) wire, that I put to battery, yellow wire I put to turn signal, black wire I put to ground, and blue (I guess remote) that I didn't use. Tell me where I went wrong. Much appreciated..

Does the relay click if you apply power to the yellow wire? How about the blue wire?
Attach the wire that makes the relay click to the parking lights.
One of the wires applys power directly to the angel eyes, that way you can hook it up to interior lights and have the remote feature, the other wire activates the relay and feeds it battery power.

I don't know about making the relay click, but the yellow wire lights the angel eyes when I connect it to the parking light, I never tried the blue wire. It's suppose to rain tomorrow maybe it will hold of and I can play around with the wires. Thanx for you help..
