Hi. I finally got my window regulator out of the door, and as you can see, its really broken. Here are some pictures so you can see.

So, I was thinking that I rather buy an repair kit than buying a completely new regulator, because the motor works fine. What do you think about this repair kit? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-E39-WI...ht_1242wt_1163
Will it work? Easy to install?
Thanks!
I've never tried rebuilding them, I find it's easier to purchase the complete regulator/motor. Just my .02
Okay, maybe I should just buy a new one.
I failed to mention insure that your lock actuator, door brake and speakers are functioning properly prior to re-installing the door panel. You don't want to pull panels too often.
i actually ordered a new lcok actuator, since the old one doesnt lock the door. So i will have the new window regulator installed at the same time with the new lock actuator
Well,
New regulator + motor = $280. If you have money then go for it.
Aftermarket regulator (w/o motor) is usually made by MTC (Chinese product) = $45.
I just bought a rebuilt kit from here Istanbul, Turkey, it is in the mail, should be here soon.
Once I rebuild and install it, I will give you guys a feedback:

Try, http://www.e38.org/
while it may work, I bet itll be kind of a pain in the ass, and the materials may be of questionable quality in comparrison to the OEM stuff.

The reason I bought from that ebay seller ensarian from Turkey is that, he has a feedback score of 99.4% (from all over the world) on ebay:

Once I receive it/install it, I will post feedback.
Actually I read the feedback on install. They are all perfect.
In fact, I trust parts made in Turkey more than parts made in China.
Turkish as very good people.
Also, I have not hear anything negative about this seller.

I bought a chinky part from fleabay almost 2 years ago, and still works fine. I think it was like $50.00 or so.

I went with OEM just to not bother about that regulator for the next 10+ years. I got sick of removing that friggin' door card and getting soaked whenever it rained.
Aftermarket may be good, but I don't think they will last as long as OEM.

In my case, it was the LEFT REAR door regulator that was a problem.
I rarely use that window, so I don't want to spend $280 for that.
However, if the driver window regulator goes out, I agree that a factory BMW part is a good choice.
I have an Ebay Chinese made left rear regulator for 3 years now, no problem. Knock on wood.
