    18x9 and 285/30/18?

Any thoughts on 18x9 with 285 Hoosier A6?
Is the 9 inch rim too narrow?

    Yes.

You can make it fit, but you won't be helping your cause. 18x10 or 18x10.5 is the way to go for 285/30r18's...

I see you are in XP, you could just run a composite fender that has already been flared.

I just checked into that tire recently and the min width Hoosier recommended was 9.5 but like nondescript said Im sure it will fit the rim. If your car isn't lowered more than 2" it might be able to fit under massaged fenders

Yeah, the plan right now is to do the GTR style fenders from DTMfiberwerkz in the front and rivet on flares for the rear.

My car sits fairly low on Advanced Racing Design coilovers.

9 is too narrow. 9.5 doesn't look right either. But we do it out of necessity.

I don't know why people insist on putting fat tires on thin rims. It just doesn't work very well. Search the forum. There are plenty of threads discussing why.

The numbers on the sidewall don't make you go fast. It's the tread on the ground that does that.
