I've heard that there are some 6-speed manual 540 tourings out there but has anyone seen any??
They made a bunch of them.. Not that many though..
How many made it to north america? Do not know.. There's a couple in Sweden at least..

540i6t does not exsist here in north america. Only on the other side of the world. You'd have to buy a 540iA T and do a trans swap.
Thanks for that info. Someone in southern cali claims hes succesfully swaped a 6-speed trans to 99 bmw 540it, wont beleive it till i see it.
Its been done. Several people have done it to sedans, the wagon is not much different. The mechanical aspect of it is straight forward, its the programming aspect that usually limits the aspirations of others.
If you know someone with the knowledge, or want to learn yourself, the resources are out there.
A six-speed wagon would definetley be worth the trouble. I just wonder how it would handle on the track.....to be continued.
A 6 speed swap in a wagon is very doable... been done before.
Guess who has one..i do

I'm contemplating a 6sp swap on my wagon. What did you do as on the ECU conversion. I have all the parts just trying to get the Info on how to make the ECU see it as a manual or what ECU conversion is needed. Thanks for any help.
Last M5 I parted the rolling chassis w/engine and drivetrain went to a guy doing an M5 touring swap Excited for pictures of that!
