What to do in Denver on New Years Eve?

    Hey fellas,

My girlfriend and I are spending two days (31st, 1st) in Denver. Neither of us have ever been - we're looking for a few things to do in the city, as well as a few ideas for new years eve fun (parties, fireworks, etc...). Anyone have any recommendations for CO newbies? No fancy shmancy $60/person clubs...we just want to have some fun

Denver has fireworks downtown at mid night. There is a good art scene on santa fe blvd (close to DT) and a bunch of the galleries are having open houses. There are a bunch of concerts going on too. I would check out the westword for more ideas.

You could start the day with a trip to the Museum, Aquariaum, Botanic Gardens or Zoo if those kind of things interest you:

    then have an early dinner

catch an erotic poetry show with belly dancers in steampunk outfits:

then to keep the mood right, catch a burlesque show at Lannies clocktower:

Cab on down to the biggest party for NYE in Denver (its in the DTC unfortunately)

Hook up with another couple, orgy in their room until check-out, get breakfast at snooze

I'm going to check out the fireworks downtown. Might roam around LoDo and find something to do also.

You could get a head start (paying homage to Warren Zevon):

Lyrics to Things To Do In Denver When You're Dead :
Written By LeRoy P. Marinell, Waddy Wachtel and Warren Zevon

I called up my friend LeRoy on the phone
I said, Buddy, I'm afraid to be alone
'Cause I got some weird ideas in my head
About things to do in Denver when you're dead

I was working on a steak the other day
And I saw Waddy in the Rattlesnake Cafe
Dressed in black, tossing back a shot of rye
Finding things to do in Denver when you die

You won't need a cab to find a priest
Maybe you should find a place to stay
Some place where they never change the sheets
And you just roll around Denver all day

LeRoy says there's something you should know
Not everybody has a place to go
And home is just a place to hang your head
And dream of things to do in Denver when you're dead

You won't need a cab to find a priest
Maybe you should find a place to stay
Some place where they never change the sheets
And you just roll around Denver all day
You just roll around Denver all day
