    Distributor cap firing order?

Hey all, my car hasn't had plug wires on it for the past many months, and my bavauto wires finally came in the mail! The only problem is that my distributor cap doesn't have any labels on it to distinguish which cylinder wire goes to which connection!

I know my firing order, I just need to know where to plug them onto the cap

Anyone able to help? Aside from a new battery this is the last step before my car is running again!

I have two M10s, but they are both stashed at my place of work. All I have here are M20s. I won't be back to work until Tuesday, and I am sure you don't want to wait that long. However, if you still need it then, I will check for you.

In the meantime, I would think it must be in the Haynes manual somewhere, right? Do you have access to one of those? Or can someone check it out for him?

77 2.0 right? spins clockwise, find top dead center, the rotor will be pointed at number 1, go clock wise 1342.

Page 80 of my 1990 Haynes Manual gives Fig. 4.6 showing the distributor 1-3-4-2 (clockwise) sequence, with #2 located directly above the vacuum advance, or whatever that thing is. . Hope this helps.

if only cruz would've seen this when he was wondering why the car would backfire through the intake....

On a similar note, I've read in a few threads here that the vacuum advance should be facing the front of the car, on the passenger side. Mine is facing the rear of the car on the passenger side, and I was wondering if that really made much of a difference as long as you adjust all of the plug wires 90 degrees.

I timed the car at 2,000rpm and found the ball, but the vacuum advance is pointing in the "wrong" direction. Could this be why my car idles fine, but struggles when revving?
