It should. Even US M3s built in 1994 have these reinforcement plates. I have seen ONE 1997 E36 M3 where the factory forgot to put them in. It is less important if you don't live in a salt/rust area and don't drag race or launch hard on the street. The E46s crack like crazy, where the E36s have fewer failures.
They are in diagram 41_0826 Body Skeleton, first diagram in group 41. Part numbers 41 00 2 256 495/496 and 41 11 2 256 497/498.

my 318 shell didnt have em (obviously), and thats why 3 of my 4 subframe mounts tore out lol, welded that tms kit in and everythings peachy! if you crawl under the car foler you can see if you have em or not, take a few pics where the subframe mounts meet the chassis and post em up and i would be able to tell you
my eurospec had exact same ones i ordered from turners already fitted!!!
at least i stimulated the economy

old thread from dust.
Is it welding this reinforcement plates change diff flange angle in any direction to tranny? When this plates is in position diff go lover because plates add some space between subframe and chassis.
BMW makes reinforcement plates for tranny mount (number two 41122256493/41122256494)) and same question for this (change tranny flange angle?): http://bmwfans.info/parts/catalog/E3...body_skeleton/

My January 94 production car has them from the factory. I bought them alone with the rest of the reinforcement kit and now have these parts left over.
do you have part # for this tranny reinf?

Never knew Euro M3s came with the rear reinforcement kit! Good news for sure.
I'm curious, has anyone had the front subframe reinf. kit welded in? Anyone had issues with their front subframe? Mine was ripped from the motor mounts when I bought it and I had to get the front kit installed, so I'm thinking it might be a good idea for higher mileage M3s to get that done as well.
Yes I had the front welded in when the car was worked on last year. The car had 71k km and the subframe was fine.
Lucky, I think mine had been tracked hard in it's previous ownership.
