NIB ACS splitters are on their way to me, should have them 1-2 weeks.

I've already spoken to the guy who will be making the molds for me, showed him a few pics, he's got a great window of time to do these, so as soon as i get him the parts, things should move along pretty quickly

Are these being sold at cost? What kind of money are we talking here? What did you decide they will be molded with? Thanks Good Luck!

I am unsure of cost as of now; my initial estimates were probably a bit low considering the amount of material necessary (but I think worst-case scenario would still easily be under $300)

They'll be WAY cheaper than the originals, that's for sure, and they'll be solid plastic, so as close to the real deal as possible.

I made a little calculation error or should I say my Thai connection made a calculation error...the splitters are $290 plus shipping...to you guys in the states $124 (shipping) so total is $414 so good luck with the project and if it falls through (which I hope it doesn't because you guys are great) then contact nvdautosport.com

Yeah I fessed up in the other thread too....thanks brother...to be honest, I always thought the M coupe didn't need anything added, but the more I saw different ones on the forum, the more I got interested in the splitters and the roof spoiler even though im not a big fan of rear spoilers, but this one seems to off-set the dramatic drop off of the silhouette (man that sounded too poetic)...

I really am impressed with 2000mkoop's thread and I am gonna promote it amongst as many M coupe owners that I know who are not on the forum.

    feel really interested in that
looking forward to the final product

but would that fit non-M Z3?
    i think non-M Z3 need it more than a M

    nope, M only

Could always take one of these replicas, modify it to fit non-m, then make a mold of that version. No idea how good it would look though, might not work at all

Not much to report, I'm guessing I'll see the splitters next week, and at that point everything will move along pretty quickly.

Also, while picking up some mold-making supplies for work-related prototypes, I checked out the specs of some different materials; There are a few that I haven't tried before that could work out quite well (one has really high tear/impact-resistance, and has some nice flex to it)

So when the molds get made, i'll likely try out a few materials, test them out, share the results...maybe have a few purchase options, as the higher-end resins will cost more.

Interesting opinion...IMO, i like both...since I have two cars, I can use one when I really want down-force and one to parade around town with a pretty looking car

I've got a sample of one of the materials I'm considering, pretty tough stuff

    Specs:
    Shore Hardness: 80D
    Tensile Strength: 11,850 psi

edit: Also, the material is clear, but can be died to any color. I was thinking black? (and no, I'm not going to custom-dye the plastic to match your car...so don't ask )

Ok, I got my 2nd M Coupe today and I am definitely in for the splitters...and the T1, but if we wait too long, I might just have to go with the Thai option on the splitters and the UK option on the TII
