I did a heat test on these, looks like they'll function very similarly to the ACS pieces.
I cooked them in an oven at over 200 degrees for a while, far too hot to handle with bare hands, and at that point they still hold their shape, not sagging or distorting.
On the very thin upper portion, it's possible to bend that part to adjust for fitment. The thicker portions don't bend at this temperature.
For reference, from what I can find online, a very hot black car surface might get 140-150 degrees, so these should do quite well

"There is no excellent beauty that hath not some strangeness in the proportion." Sir Francis Bacon
so how many deposits have been sent? Would the price change if I added a deposit? Too bad my cars going in for front end paint Monday otherwise I could've done these at the same time. They might have to be painted black then by me!!! Let me know.
Can you post up pics again of the one you heat molded and got closer to perfect? After that, I'll probably send a deposit.
Would any more deposits received now make a difference in cost or is it anyway locked in?
I love my car.
Originally I wanted to have the price locked in earlier, but I wanted to make sure everyone had an opportunity to see the sample pieces.
I also need to talk to my molder, see what kind of quantities he's comfortable with; I know these are difficult pieces to make because of their size/shape, so it's possible quantities will be limited. I'll chat with him next week, see how he feels about things
After I talk with him next week, i'll likely lock down pricing

Deposit sent. Thanks!
Got it!
Fitted!
Pretty easy to get lined up with a bit of heat. Splitter isn't even adhered to fascia in these pics, just laying on there.
(Even without doing this, it was probably close enough to where fasteners would've been able to pull the little bit of gap closed)
We're at $215 now, getting close to $200!

This may be a noob question but what price are people expecting to spend for paint/install costs? I've never added on any "ground effects" to a car.
Rattle can + super glue?
That'll depend on the shop you take it to, but I'd suspect $100 would be on the low end if you have them prep, paint and mount them. I think I'll take a shot at DIYing them. I had my front/rear bumper, hood, and hatch spoiler painted not long ago, so I might be able to buy some paint from the shop. We'll see...
I'm also toying with wrapping them in vinyl, but not sure how that would look. In general, I think subtle changes are better than drastic.
Tempted for a spare set.....
Sent deposit!
I'm interested do you have any issue shipping to Canada?
Thanks
Splitters look great! Deposit Sent!!
I think I am in for 2 sets. One for my car, one for Carls old car (steve's now).
A question, the I owned some original ACS splitters, I was concerned about damaging them, and being original, I didn't want to worry about it (cost me $500). I went back and forth on it, and finally decided to sell them.
Now, Carl installed the Motion motorsports reps. While driving his car, one of them literally exploded when scrubbing it on a driveway approach.
What were the MM splitters made of, they seemed HEAVY. Almost like they were made of plaster. How would these splitters handle an impact, do they give, to the crack, shatter, deflect, deform?
Just wondering on this. When I took off the broken splitter, and then remove the other one, the MM fitment was soo bad, Carl literally had to tweak shave the bumper to get them to fit. For Steve, I will get these for him so he doesn't have a screwed up bumper, these will cover the cosmetics caused by the MM splitters.
Let me know, Greg.
